School & University Events

A great graduation night, whether for high school or university students, should hit all the right notes: fun, safe, and classy - we are dedicated to delivering all three. As a premier school formal and university venue, Hillstone's reputation speaks for itself, with countless universities and schools returning to Hillstone for their formals, balls, and graduation celebrations. We offer ample onsite parking, professional security staff for the entire evening, and our Hundred Acre Bar provides a comfortable spot for parents and guests who prefer to stay on-site during the event. The events we typically host include award and presentation evenings; valedictories and graduation ceremonies; sports awards nights and end-of-season events; staff retreats; professional development days; career events for senior students; soirees for younger grades; parent social events; and reunions.

The University events we host are traditionally the awards and presentations for end-of-year graduations. For these events, our entire venue is available for hire, accommodating up to 1,200 people. We enjoy wonderful relationships with the University of Queensland, Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology, hosting many of their annual University and college balls – this is one of our specialties. We can also host conferences, meetings and innovative team-building events across the different faculties. These are available with golf course and restaurant packages. Many of our onsite venues are ideal for formal events, and we know that a memorable arrival is part of the fun. At Hillstone, students can make a grand entrance using our clock tower for red carpet arrivals, showcasing the funky vehicles they've chosen for the night.

Our venues can cater to events of various sizes and atmospheres. Whether your school prefers a lively night with a dance floor and DJ or a more grand evening complete with a fireworks display (please check with us early due to Brisbane City Council restrictions), we’ve got you covered.
