Still not sure if your Christmas party ideas are going to impress your guests? Here’s some advice from Arrangement Co. Directors Kim Holland and Gianna Armour, who also happen to be two of Brisbane’s most well-renowned interior designers. From the planning phase to applying the finishing touches, these two are experts in creating wonderful events at Christmas party venues all over Brisbane.
Tell us about your ideas for a great Christmas event in 2018.
“This year it’s all about sharing – and food is number 1! It is the most wonderful, communal link amongst people at Christmas time, so choosing foods that appeal to all palettes and matching it with wines is something to appreciate.”
“Taking the time with decorations and music is a necessity too. Christmas events bring together all age groups, so classic music or modern takes on old favourites playing softly in the background will create the perfect mood. If you’re looking for a great playlist the older generations will appreciate – The Three Tenors, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby are all-time favourites.”
What’s trending with Christmas styling?
“Lots of striking green leaves, worked back with candles, natural timbers and berries – it’s a superb look. You can’t go wrong!”
What are your favourite Christmas party colour ideas?
“You have options. We love traditional colours of green, red, gold and silver. A little more unconventional, but trending in 2018 are purples, blues and greys, mixed with glass decorations and green branches. We also love using metal accents in copper, brass and silver with scents of cinnamon and pine. It’s the finishing touches that leave lasting impressions.”
Is styling a Christmas event expensive?
“Our standard styling starts from $300 and we have some stunning looks to choose from (check out our latest photo shoots below). Customised options are also available, that incur an extra fee depending on the greenery and flowers chosen. It’s important to be flexible and to work within people’s budgets, that is our motto.”
How much notice do you need to style an event?
“We’re good at working with short lead times. Our standard styling requires only 48 hours’ notice, with a week’s notice for larger customised events.”
Do you source materials from local suppliers?
“All our materials are sourced from South East Queensland. Our flowers arrive from Redland Bay, our logs come from friends in the bush, and our glassware and accessories are from Brisbane wholesalers. It’s a core part of our business to keep things local and support Australian producers.”
